How to decorate your swimming pool for the holidays!
Christmas will arrive before you know it, and this is the perfect time for pool parties and other exciting celebrations for your family and friends. Today, we’re going to look at a few of our favorite pool Christmas decorations that will help turn your home into a Winter Wonderland!
Hang Up String Lights
Everyone knows one of the best ways to show your holiday spirit is with Christmas lights. Even though you may think of string lights as being limited to your front yard and the tree inside, you can basically put them up anywhere. Hang them up around your pool, including along the back of your house and in any trees or other vegetation, to give your swimming pool area a holiday feel.
Christmas Inflatables
As for celebrating with the swimming pool itself, possibly the best way is to pick up a few Christmas inflatables. There are many different types available such as Santa, reindeer, penguins, Christmas trees, and others. You can also pick up inflatables that celebrate other holidays such as Hanukkah or Kwanzaa. If you want to be low-key about it, you can even just pick up a few floating candles.
Outdoor Christmas Tree
There’s no rule that says Christmas trees can only be put up inside your home. If you have enough funds and a proper area to set up a tree outdoors, go ahead and do it. Just keep in mind that this tree will be exposed to the elements, so you probably don’t want to put keepsake ornaments on it. You may also want to avoid tinsel because if the wind kicks up, it may look like the holiday has exploded in your yard.
Use Decorative Plants
Plants are always a great way to decorate an area, but by adding festive plants around your pool, you can give it more of a Christmas vibe. For the holiday, you should choose seasonal plants such as poinsettias, pines, and holly. These will add a festive appearance to your backyard and swimming pool area.
Hang Paper Snowflakes
If you want your swimming pool space to look like a true Winter Wonderland, then you need to add some snowflakes. You can either purchase some ready-made paper snowflakes at the store or search online for instructions on how to make them yourself. Hang them from your awning, the trees, and anywhere else around your pool or the backyard itself to create a wonderful Christmas experience.
Decorate the Fire Pit
Fire pits are a great thing to have around during the holidays when the temperatures drop to help people stay warm. But they can also become part of the festivities because it gives you a specific area to create a sort of miniature Winter Wonderland. This is a perfect place to hang up items such as paper lanterns, paper snowflakes, and maybe a few ornaments.
Celebrate Other Holidays
Even though Christmas tends to be the most widely celebrated holiday at the end of the year, there are other holidays that you can celebrate with family and friends that are just as important. There are plenty of holiday decorations that will allow you to celebrate Hanukkah and Kwanzaa, and there’s no rule against mixing them all together. This is a fantastic way to make everyone who visits your home to take a dip in the pool feel welcome.
